Mr & Mrs Cornthwaite, St. Peters Church Sawrey & Langley Park Barn, 8th June 2019

Back in Summer 2019, Rachel & Brian got married in St. Peters Church in Sawrey followed by a reception at their home in Waberthwaite. So much thought went into their day, even pies were served after the church service for the journey to the reception! A combination of personal touches, rustic style and a whole heap of fun made the most perfect day.

Rachel got ready at her parents home just a few miles from the church. The morning was relaxed and organised.

After the church service, pies were given out to all the guests before a drive through the Lake District to the reception. We stopped off at Coniston for some photographs and even though it was raining it was so peaceful and sheltered under the trees.

Until the day I hadn't seen the barn reception complete. I was taken back when I walked in, it looked absolutely amazing! Exposed brick, fairly lights and a huge window at one end. It was cosy and magical. Since their wedding Rachel & Brian have been making steps to allow the barn to be rented out for future weddings and events. At this stage it's not quite ready but watch this space as it soon will be and it will be worth a view.

For the sit down meal everyone had a different seat for each course. What a brilliant idea to allow everyone to talk to different people. There was even a designated carver for the main course who were given chef hats!

After the meal and speeches guests enjoyed games outside and keeping warm by the giant fire pit. I took Rachel & Brian off for some more photographs in the surrounding fields. Usually you get a view of all the western mountains but sadly the cloud put a stop to that. Still, their dogs loved to be included in some photos!

I left everyone dancing the night away in the barn feeling so honoured to have been apart of their day.
